Mamata: Bengal peaceful, those opposing BJP attacked in Tripura

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Sunday blamed the BJP for genuinely assaulting political rivals ‘who try to take out assemblies in Tripura’.

Alluding to the supposed assault by BJP laborers on Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev during a public effort program close to Agartala in Tripura on Friday, the TMC supremo said that even “a lady MP” isn’t saved.

The TMC is mounting a test to the saffron party in the northeastern state in the gathering political decision due in 2023.

Dismissing the BJP’s cases of brutality on its laborers in West Bengal, Banerjee said, “There is harmony in West Bengal and it isn’t the tranquility of the burial ground.”
